Whether driving a financed vehicle or one owned outright, it’s best to protect it and yourself against potential damage and liability issues if involved in an accident or victimized by theft or some other unfortunate event. Through proprietary and third-party insurance providers, Farm Bureau offers automobile insurance with products and programs varying by state.
In general, Farm Bureau members can get insurance coverage for a variety of vehicle types, including cars, classic and antique autos, SUVs, vans, trucks, motorcycles, motor homes, off-road vehicles, snowmobiles and trailers. Insurance options include standard property damage and bodily injury liability coverage as required by law in most states to protect drivers and vehicle owners against potential legal liability for accidents causing injury, death or property damage.
Collision coverage is available to repair or replace a vehicle if involved in an accident. Comprehensive coverage also is offered to protect against a variety of perils, including theft, fire, wind and hail damage, vandalism, explosions, hitting deer and other animals, explosions and damage from falling objects.
Optional replacement cost coverage ensures a vehicle no more than three years old is replaced with a new vehicle of the same make and model if totaled in a covered loss. Uninsured and underinsured optional coverages protect drivers, passengers and vehicles against costs if involved in an accident with a driver carrying too little or no insurance coverage.
Optional “no-fault” coverage pays medical and non-medical costs, such as lost income, funeral expenses, replacement services and other costs for drivers and their passengers if involved in an accident with another vehicle or struck by a vehicle. An auto death indemnity option pays a predetermined cash amount if involved in an accident causing a policyholder’s death.
Other options can be purchased to cover towing and labor costs and rental reimbursement if an insured vehicle is disabled due to a covered event. Motor home owners also can buy insurance protection up to preselected limits for personal belongings taken with them on trips.
